We are in the formation phase of our church plant. There's room for more of us on the path.

Luminous Parish is an emerging sacramental community in Nashville | Franklin, TN, learning to be still, live fully, and reflect the Great Light of the world. We desire to cooperate with God in the transformation of our souls. We are a community of believers seeking veritas (truth) and embracing mystery while clarifying the chaos of life into a holy (set apart) context through worship and contemplation.

Traditionally, to have a parish meant to take spiritual responsibility for a designated geographic area. We believe in the importance of commitment to local community and planting roots to form deep and meaningful relationships in our neighborhoods that can help bring about real change as part of a greater movement of renewal.

The greater Nashville area has over 2 million people. Studies show that between 18-29 yrs old, almost 60% of people will walk away from the Church, and that doesn’t include those who aren’t already in a community of faith. There are many indigenous components to the culture that make Nashville ripe and ready for a new vibrant parish rooted in the Anglican way. Luminous Parish leans heavily into three streams through Scripture, Spirit, and Sacrament.

With life running at a pace that is potentially unsustainable, we hope our gatherings provide space to slow down and meet with God. Music, the arts, and liturgy are central mediums of worship at Luminous Parish. Creative in nature, there continues to be a thirst for the reconnection of the past and future Church. Our community centers in the ancient liturgy of the church (readings from Scripture, chanting Psalms, sermon, prayers of the people, Holy Eucharist, benediction, etc), and is supported by a blend of modern and ancient hymnology that helps provide context within our current culture.

Tethered to deep, rich legacies of the Church, the Anglican way is the middle way (Latin: Via Media). Throughout history Anglicanism has been the path of many history makers, writers, artists, scholars.
